Working in a Extension in Langford. Wiring up a downstairs utility room and shower room. When designing your bathroom lights, remember Led spotlights can be dimmed.
This function is good for those people who like it bright in the bathroom. And good for those who like the lighting softer (That's me).
Adding a separate switch for a feature light or mirror light is a nice touch. As it gives you the option to have a feature light only. Which provides a relaxing environment for a nice soak in the bath.
Today I am wiring 4 spotlights. A mirror light and a bathroom fan.
The spotlights will be IP rated. This means they are waterproof for the bathroom. The spotlights will be in brushed chrome finish. I prefer brushed chrome because it looks more designer and looks cleaner than polished chrome.
The bathroom feature light will be a mirror light with a sensor to turn on and off. The bathroom extractor fan will have a adjustable timer to allow the fan to run on for a few minutes. After the lights are turned off.
This helps to extract moist air. Preventing condensation and reduces the build up of mold. When all the Electrical work is finished, the Electrical work will be tested, certificated and notified to building control. Under the Part P building regulations.
For those of you getting your bathroom electrics installed by a the bathroom fitter or a bathroom company. You are in your rights to ask for a Electrical certificate and Part P notification.
